P-Street: An Ode to the City

I had been going through a bout of creative block, until I walked into my local camera shop a saw that they started carrying Polaroid film, or maybe they always had and I just noticed. I took in a breath and a purchased a pack. It took me back to my first Polaroid that mom and dad bought me when I was 12.  The pictures as I recall were horrible, I knew nothing of light or composition, but I loved it. I had set it aside when other interests came my way until now. My concept is not new, nothing really is new in photography, but I decided to work with a Polaroid camera gifted me by a great local arts organization. Using what I know now as a seasoned photographer while using the tools I had as a child. The P-Street series came about by bringing my childhood and adulthood together, a past and present. It’s almost like a time traveler where as an adult you are meeting yourself as a child.
